ASCAP Writers Nab People's Choice Award for Hairspray

Congrats to ASCAP composers and songwriters Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, whose song "You Can't Stop the Beat," from the 2007 remake of Hairspray, took home this year's People's Choice Award for favorite Song From A Soundtrack. The People's Choice Awards give fans a way to voice their opinions on movies, television, and music. This year's Awards were broadcast on CBS on Tuesday evening, January 8.

This honor marks another victory for the highly successful Hairspray, which has also been nominated for a Golden Globe, a Grammy and multiple Critics' Choice Awards.
