Patti Smith, Van Halen, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five and The Ronettes top list of new inductees



The 22nd Annual Induction Ceremony for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was held on March 12 at New York City's Waldorf Astoria, and this year's inductees represented a wide range of rock pioneers. ASCAP members inducted this year included Patti Smith, Van Halen and The Ronettes. The ceremony also honored Ahmet Ertegun, legendary founder of Atlantic Records, who passed away last year. Among those inducting this year's honorees were fellow ASCAP members Jay Z, Eddie Vedder and the members of Velvet Revolver.
