The New York Chapter of the Recording Academy honors Bon Jovi, Alicia Keys and the creators of West Side Story

On September 26, the New York Chapter of the Recording Academy presented its Honors event, celebrating New York City area artists whose outstanding achievements and contributions have significantly enriched the New York area music community and community at-large. This year the Recording Academy honored Bon Jovi, Alicia Keys and the creators of
West Side Story (Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Bernstein, Arthur Laurents and Jerome Robbins) as well as gospel great Donnie McClurkin. The black-tie celebration took place at Cipriani Wall Street and featured tribute performances by such luminaries as Melissa Etheridge, Broadway cast performers and others.
