Commissioned

MARK DANIEL MERRITT, the North Carolina composer,has been commissioned to compose a festival piece for choir and hand bells, "Joy Comes in the Morning."  He has also recently released, "Love Came Down at Christmas," and "Precious Little One," co-written with Ellen Douglas Merritt.

DENNIS BATHORY-KITSZ (co-host of the former "Kalvos & Damian's New Music Bazaar", winner of a 2000 ASCAP-Deems Taylor Award), begins a 365-day composition project "We Are All Mozart" in January. The project demands a finished composition each day in 2007. He has more than 70 commissions already on the schedule. The concept behind WAAM is a "Concert Music. Buy Local." campaign to raise the visibility of local composers around the country.
