Gold Badge Awards Salute Britain's Entertainment Industry

Composers John Altman and Howard Goodall, blues man Chris Farlowe and songwriter/Texas founder Johnny McElhone were among the honorees at the 33rd Annual Gold Badge Awards presented by the British Academy of Composers & Songwriters on October 25, 2006 at the Savoy Hotel in London. The honorees are members of the PRS – the UK's Performing Right Society – who license their music through ASCAP for the USA.

Covering a wide range of disciplines, ages and musical styles, the Gold Badge Awards, sponsored by the U.K.'s Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society (MCPS), pay tribute to an outstanding group of men and women who have made a special or lasting contribution to Britain's entertainment industry. Previous recipients include Tony Christie, Roger Daltrey, Justin Hayward, Sir Cliff Richard and Donovan.
