ASCAP and MySpace.com teamed up to present showcases in Atlanta, Georgia and Chapel Hill, North Carolina highlighting some of the hottest up-and-coming songwriters and bands that have profiles on ASCAP's MySpace.com page. The showcases are designed to provide local artists with an opportunity to perform at high-profile music showcases in their hometowns, while offering them a way to share their music nationwide with millions of MySpace users.
Local songwriters and bands with profiles on MySpace.com were able to submit their music by joining specially created ASCAP MySpace City pages for the chance to perform at the showcase in their hometowns. Alex Lawhon and Sweater Weather were selected to join the showcase line-up in Chapel Hill and Kill Gordon was selected to perform in Atlanta. The showcases were a huge success!
