The 2006 ASCAP Foundation Extended Songwriters Workshop Compilation
The 2006 ASCAP Foundation Extended Songwriters Workshop in New York focuses on the discovery, development and education of a select, advanced group of songwriters. The program, which ran in eight sessions from June 13-28, 2006, also featured experts who shared their knowledge on a variety of relevant topics, including A&R, music publishing, artist management, and legal issues. Ten songwriters were selected to participate in the 2006 workshop: Rosi Golan, Felix McTeigue, Henry "Toppy" Frost, Greta Gertler, Jason Misrahi, Dayna Hollins, Laura Wolfe, Andy McNamara, James Moorhead and Chris Saunders.
The participants also wrote and demo-recorded a new song during the course of the workshop. One participant, Rosi Golan, won the majority vote by guest speakers to receive the first ever ASCAP Foundation Robert Allen Award.
