As part of its series of education seminars, the New York Musical Theatre Festival presented Dream Dialogue -- An Evening with David Zippel and Rupert Holmes -- at ASCAP's offices in New York on September 27, 2006. ASCAP Director of Musical Theatre Michael Kerker spoke with Tony-winning lyricist David Zippel (City of Angels, The Woman in White, The Good-bye Girl) and Tony-winning composer, lyricist and author Rupert Holmes (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Say Goodnight, Gracie) about their individual writing processes—from personal inspirations to overcoming demons and creative blocks.
