The humorous charm easily detectable in Dan Scully's music may trace back to his fun-loving charismatic mother, whose musician boyfriend first introduced Scully to the magic of the guitar. Dan was catapulted into the music world as a child. He was taken to see Al Green at The Albany Empire at a young age, and his parents were friends with several mainstream musicians including punk rock legends The Sex Pistols. So it doesn't come as a surprise that Dan Scully eventually abandoned his plans for military school and pursued his dreams in the music industry by creating the band Scully. The off-the-wall drummer Matt Racher, who hoodwinked his parents into believing he attended college daily when really he jammed away on his drums. Known as the slightly more mellowed but still comic member, Matt describes fellow band-mate Tom Bold as "the best bass player in Brighton." Tom was born in a village outside Sevenoaks in Kent and gained an infatuation with Smashing Pumpkins, Led Zeppelin and Metallica.
When writing songs, the group attempts to add some pizzazz to the typical "European Band" sound by spicing things up with edgy sounds and humorous lyrics. Dan states the band's main goal is to fully entertain the audience while also coming up with lyrics that truly enlighten people. They do just that on their new unstoppable single, "Who's a Terrorist Now?" The band is currently putting the finishing touches on their album, produced by Ben Hillier.
