The New York Guitar Festival, held earlier this spring, featured the Nebraska Project, an all-star tribute to the songs on Bruce Springsteen's critically-acclaimed acoustic masterpiece, Nebraska. A highlight of the evening was singer-songwriter Jen Chapin's version of "Born in the USA," a song that was not included on the seminal album, but was among the group of songs Springsteen wrote for project.
Chapin, the daughter of legendary songwriter Harry Chapin, delighted the audience with her transcendent performance. At the close of the show, which featured several songwriters and musicians interpreting Nebraska's sparse and haunting songs, Springsteen joined everyone onstage for an encore of Woody Guthrie's "Oklahoma Home." Chapin brought along infant son, Maceo (with earphones to protect his hearing), to join in the fun.
