Great Pretenders

Chrissie Hynde and company explode out of the box in a fine new retrospective

The Pretenders, led by Ohio-born Chryssie Hynde, have a new four disc retrospective, Pirate Radio (Rhino). The set features all the band's hits, including "Brass in Pocket," "Precious," "Talk of the Town," "Back on the Chain Gang" and "My City Was Gone," as well as demos, rarities and archival performances on video. Hynde and her band have endured for nearly 30 years and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005.
