Under the leadership of music director and host Nic Harcourt, KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" and "Sounds Eclectic" has gained an international following and helpted to launch the careers of artists like Norah Jones, Damien Rice, David Gray, Sigur Ros and Coldplay. KCRW was also one of the first college radio stations (Santa Monica College) to introduce podcasting with about 20,000 downloads per week, and it also recently announced it would be video podcasting to promote music videos and give video iPod users something fun to download and watch. The station's willingness to embrace innovation has made it one of today's premiere indie tastemakers. |
