DEREK BERMEL, BRIAN CURRENT, STEPHEN PAULUS' works at the American Composers Orchestra's concert at Carnegie Hall in NYC on May 3, 2006. The concert, conducted by Steven Sloane, included the NY premieres of Paulus' Erotic Spirits, with soprano Deborah Voight, and Brian Current's (SOCAN) Symphonies in Slanted Time. The concert featured the world premiere of Bermel's Elixir, an ACO/Betty Freeman commission.

ROBERT E. CUCINOTTA'S "Nethermead Arches" for clarinet and piano. The piece was performed by James Cucinotta, clarinet, and Gerald Hecht, piano.

JEREMY DEPRISCO'S new original music in Stephen Schrum's monologue "Immaculate Misconceptions." The music was performed by dePrisco himself at the event, which took place in Greensburg, PA.

PATRICK FRANCIS' "McAllister Street Blues" and "Variations on a Chinese Theme (Jasmine)." The two pieces, both for guitar quartet, had their Asian premiere in a multi-city tour of Taiwan by the San Francisco Guitar Quartet.

LEE HOLDRIDGE'S Concierto Para Mendez, which was presented by the Los Angeles Opera on October 14, 2006 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion.

EVA KENDRICK'S "Shining," in its West Coast premiere in Los Angeles. Based on the poetry of Pulitzer-nominated poet Kathleen Spivack, the 25-minute piece was performed by Kendrick, Belinda Wilkins, and Melanie Henley-Heyn.

ALICE POWERS MCELHONE'S "I Must Be Dreaming" in New York City. The lyricist teamed up with composer and fellow ASCAP member VARICK BACON to write the song, which was performed by cabaret headliner Barbara Brussell.

MICHAEL SHAPIRO'S Piano Quintet was premiered by the Locrian Chamber Players at Riverside Church on August 24, 2006.

HARVEY SHIELD and RICHARD JARBOE'S new musical Maccabeat at the Crossroads Musical Theatre Festival, Kansas City, MO on July 22,2006.

RAYMOND TORRES-SANTOS' "Musica Naturalis" in New York City by the North/South Consonance.

DAVID WILLIAMS' "Appalachian Muse for Children's Chorus and Orchestra" by the Appalachian Children's Chorus in Charleston, West Virginia. Earlier premieres of Williams' work include "Grotesques: Concerto for Timpani and Wind Ensemble," premiered by Adam Mason and the University of Lethbridge Wind Orchestra in Alberta, Canada, and "String Quartet No. 1," premiered by the Montclaire String Quartet also in Charleston.
