It’s Only Natural
Clif Bar’s Natural Energy Tour van parked outside of ASCAP’s headquarters this summer while it was passing through New York City on its tour of music festivals and other events along the East Coast. The “Clif-Mobile” runs on B100 biodiesel, a clean-burning alternative fuel source made from domestic resources, like soybean oil. ASCAP reps and Clif Bar drivers Brian and Ashley hit it off and discussed music creators’ role in helping to spread the word on what people can do to help save the environment. Brian and Ashley cited ASCAP members Dave Matthews Band and Guster as two groups that have lead the charge in going “green” while on the road.

Pictured (l-r) are ASCAP’s Yuri Kwon, Sue Devine, Jason Silberman, Clif Bar’s Ashley and Brian and ASCAP’s Loretta Munoz and Margaret Spoddig.

ERIC LANE BARNES' title song and underscore for the independent feature film, In-laws and Outlaws.

DAVID WILLIAM BATTERSON'S "Hollyweed USA" with music by Mark Giles, in a music video created by Batterson on SpellCasters.com.

THE BRAKES as the face for H&R Block's national "taxcut" advertising campaign. The Philadelphia band was tagged when an H&R executive found the group's song "Special" on the website of a popular Philadelphia radio station, WXPN. But that didn't mean the band was in-they competed against 900 other acts for the spot. The ad has been placed in Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, and US Weekly, and the song played on MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, Fox, and WB.

BRIAN MATTHEW BUZARD'S "Gave Too Much" on an episode of All My Children aired in December 2005.

JONATHON COX at the Indie Gathering in Cleveland, OH. Cox's original scores were featured in two films, Murder at Midnight and Broken Oath.

DEBRA DAVIS in the ABC Family series Beautiful People in March and April 2006. In addition to her four songs in the series, Davis herself will be featured on the cover of the summer issue of Singer/Musician magazine.

RAPHAEL DEGIORGIO'S works on UPN's hit show Cuts. The show included two of the composer/producer's songs.

SHARON FARBER'S score in the films When Nietzsche Wept and The Tribe. Farber's music can be heard on the Emmy Award winning series Starting Over. She was also recently commissioned by The Israel Symphony Orchestra to compose a new orchestral work for their 2007 season.

FOUR STAR RIOT'S song "Get What U Give" in 20th Century Fox's film Like Mike 2, which was released in July. The song is off the band's album Tonight & Tomorrow.

REMY HENDRIX on the recording soundtrack for the feature film Pimp Slappin' Ninjas. Hendrix himself also appeared in the film.

DARYL JOHNSON'S composition "SageWalk" from his debut CD, From the Inside, on CMT's Dukes of Hazzard. The piece was also used on the Disney DVD Popular, Season 2.

DANIEL KIROUAC'S duet "Two of Us" (also featuring Ken Tracy Jr.) on WCCA-TV 13's Local Rock TV show, which aired in 21 cities across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He and his band Strongbatch also performed live selections from their two CDs.
