Scenic Route

Touriste hope to take a trip up the charts

Touriste, a promising four-piece from North Kent in England, will release their debut single, "Battle On," in September 2006 through Faith & Hope Records. The song, which is lush with gorgeous melodies and catchy riffs, will get some radio love from Steve Lamacq on BBC6 and Jim Gellatley from XFM Scotland. The band formed in 2004 after singer Sam Harris won a national songwriting competition and decided to take his music to the next level with a full band. As fate would have it, he teamed up with his brother Kris. As a result, Kris and Sam grew closer through their music. "We used to fight a lot when we started the band," said Kris, who plays bass. "I think we've learned to live with each other. We do say what's on our minds. It keeps the guitars in tune."
