Fang Man

Fang Man Wins ACO 2006 Underwood Commission

Composer Fang Man has been named the winner of the American Composers Orchestra's 2006 Underwood Emerging Composers Commission. The commission is for her to compose a new work to be premiered at Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2008. This is one of the most coveted opportunities for emerging composers in America. Fang Man, a graduate of the Central Conservatory of Music Beijing, currently studies at Cornell University where she is completing her Doctorate. The 15th Underwood New Music Readings finalists included a number of ASCAP members: Anna Clyne, Robert Gates, Jeff Myers, Paul Richards and Matthew Tommasini.
