Survivor Signs
Gloria Gaynor recently signed with ASCAP at the Society's New York City headquarters. Disco legend Gaynor, who rose to fame on her disco-era hits, "I Will Survive," "Never Can Say Good-Bye," "Just Keep Thinkin' About You" and "Last Night," is as active as ever –performing live concerts, appearing on national TV, releasing CDs and more. In 2002, she released the album, I Wish You Love, which gave birth to four #1 dance singles as well as her first top ten, " I Never Knew" on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Charts. She also recorded a new version of "I Will Survive" in Spanglish, recorded live in Brazil. That same year, she was honored at the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo with the coveted Legend Award, presented by longtime fan Prince Albert. In September of this year she was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame during a ceremony that took place in New York City. She also recently wrote her autobiography, I Will Survive (St. Martin's Press) that reveals her journey through life.
