ASCAP, MUSICARES AND GIBSON PRESENT...

(l-r) ASCAP's Jan Mirkin and Tommy Shannon (Double Trouble).

During the Meet, Greet & Eat event held on September 7, 2005, ASCAP and Gibson came together with MusiCares in Austin to welcome new Texas MusiCares rep Ananda Moss. The event was hosted at the new Gibson Showroom in Austin with over 75 people in attendance. The event was especially timely in the wake of Katrina as many songwriters have been relocated to Austin and various areas of Texas. MusiCares just announced a $1,000,000 donation to help the cause. ASCAP was able to help pass the word and direct artists and the music community in need to MusiCares through the event. The event also served to raise awareness that ASCAP continues to be strong and active in Texas.
