ASCAP Artists Get IFPI Platinum Honors

Congratulations to our members and members of PRS, Metallica, Skunk Anansie, Placebo, and Lenny Kravitz for reaching Platinum Europe status! Metallica's new album St. Anger successfully reached the impressive milestone, Billboard reports. Skunk Anansie's Post Orgasmic Chill, Placebo's Without You I'm Nothing, and Lenny Kravitz' Lenny also earned the honor, according to IFPI's Platinum Europe certifications for June.

Additionally, Skunk Anansie members Skin and Ace released their own solo projects this month -- their first offerings since the split of the band. Guitarist Ace has released his album, Still Hungry, under the moniker Ace Sounds. The album features guest vocals from Skye (Morcheeba), Lemmy (Motorhead), JJ Burnell (The Stranglers) and Saffron (Republica). This month also sees the release of SA vocalist Skin's solo album, Fleshwounds. The album is filled with strong love songs with a raw edge which highlight Skin's songwriting talent.

Placebo have been busy promoting their fourth album, Sleeping With Ghosts. The band have sold over 3 million records worldwide and have entered the UK Top 10 with every album.
