ASCAP member Brett James (left) penned Kenny Chesney (right) and Uncle Krackers six-week #1 single "When The Sun Goes Down," giving Chesney his fastest climb to #1 on Billboard Country Chart in just nine weeks. | | Longtime writer/artist Brett James exploded as a songwriter over the past four years with songs recorded by Faith Hill, Jessica Andrews, Kenny Chesney, and Martina McBride, to name a few. With his songwriting and artistry fully established, Brett is turning his talents to production as well.
Brett had more singles on Billboard's Top 40 Country Singles chart in 2001 than any other songwriter. He also achieved his third multi-week #1 hit as a writer, following his successes with "Blessed" for Martina McBride and ìWho I Amî by Jessica Andrews with his current hit ìWhen The Sun Goes Down.î Over the past four years Brett has over 100 cuts. Recently he has begun working in production and artist development. As a producer, Brett has worked with Atlantic Records on a pop artist and is currently developing a country artist. |
