PLAYBACK REWIND

Day of the Dead:

ASCAP's Todd Brabec catches up with the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir backstage at the BAMMIES (now known as the California Music Awards) in San Francisco circa 1989. When this photo was taken, the Grateful Dead, one of the most popular and enduring touring bands in the world, were riding high on the success of their studio album, In the Dark, and the band's Top 40 single, “Touch of Grey.”
