Legendary R&B Group Earth, Wind & Fire Inducted Into Hollywood's Rockwalk

Earth, Wind & Fire were inducted into Hollywood's RockWalk on Monday, July 7, 2003, the only sidewalk gallery dedicated to honoring those artists who have made a significant contribution to the evolution of Rock 'n' Roll. Earth, Wind & Fire's handprints and signatures will reside alongside other equally accomplished musicians and innovators such as Johnny Cash, B.B. King, James Brown, George Martin, Brian Wilson, Carlos Santana, Lou Reed, Carl Perkins, John Lee Hooker, The Ramones and Bonnie Raitt among numerous others.

Legendary R&B group Earth, Wind & Fire, widely renowned for their energetic rhythms, sultry-classic love songs, feel good vibes and positive and uplifting lyrics, provide an unforgettable magic that has earned the group six consecutive double platinum albums and more than 40 million album sales just in the U.S. The extraordinary band has reaped countless industry accolades, including six Grammy Awards, an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, BET's Lifetime Achievement Award and ASCAP's Rhythm & Soul Heritage Award.

Earth, Wind & Fire combines the highest standards of virtuosity with a highly innovative and visionary approach to showmanship, revolutionizing the art of concert performance with elaborate costumes and stage effects. Crisp arrangements, soaring harmonies, impeccable instrumental performances, along with the signature vocal interplay between and Maurice White's lows and Philip Bailey's highs, helped establish the group into a worldwide phenomenon - and the biggest-selling act of any kind in the history of Columbia Records. Their vibrant sound crosses generational and demographic lines with such radio mainstays as "Shining Star," "Serpentine Love," "Getaway," "After The Love Has Gone," "Mighty, Mighty" and "Fantasy." Earth, Wind & Fire became the first black performers to headline throughout the world without an opening act, to receive Madison Square Garden's Gold Ticket Award for selling more than 100,000 tickets and to receive the Columbia Records Crystal Globe Award for selling more than five million albums in foreign markets.

Earth, Wind & Fire recently released their first new CD in six years, The Promise, featuring the group's unique mix of seasoned professionalism and contemporary edge, along with the hit single "All In The Way."
