The Songwriters Hall of Fame (SHOF) and Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) have partnered to host the Songwriters Hall of Fame Song Competition. The contest is open to everyone, including both amateur and professional songwriters.
The winner will receive an exclusive publishing contract with Universal Music Publishing Group and two non-transferrable tickets to the 2015 SHOF Annual Induction Gala, where they will be recognized from the stage. Four second place winners will receive other prizes, including creative and career mentoring by SHOF inductees and honorees.
Songs will be judged based on melody, composition, originality and lyrics. Entries will be reviewed by a listening committee of top industry professionals, and finalists will be screened by a celebrity judging panel headed by SHOF Chairman Jimmy Webb and Evan Lamberg, President UMPG North America and includes legendary songwriters, producers, record company and publishing executives.
