Winter 2007 Elena Skye and Boo Reiners founded Demolition String Band in the late 90's when the two rockers discovered a shared yen for hardcore country and bluegrass music. Skye, from Chicago, and Reiner, from North Carolina, went on to help revive and foster a roots music community in New York City's Lower East Side that still thrives today.

ASCAP also co-sponsored several other parties and showcases with other music industry leaders and hosted boat rides on Austin's Town Lake.

The panel featured producers and songwriters, including Alonzo "Zo" Lee, Jr. (Trak Starz), Andre Merritt (Omarion, Marques Houston) and Michelle Williams (Destiny's Child).
