Chris Hajian
Film Title: Yonkers Joe
Director: Robert Celestino
Section: Discovery
The roots of Chris Hajian's film composition lie in the indie film movement of the 90s. Most notably, he composed the score to
Ten Benny, which was selected for the 1996 Sundance Film Festival. He began his creative relationship with Robert Celestino when he composed the provocative score for
Mr. Vincent that premiered at Sundance the following year. Hajian's career blossomed as he worked steadily, composing for film, television and documentaries. Recently, he composed music for HBO's
Naked States and its sequel,
Naked World, about the work of photographer Spencer Tunick. Hajian's television credits include an entire season of
The Knights of Prosperity (ABC).
In film, Hajian recently composed scores for the gritty cinéma-vérité drama
The Take, directed by Brad Furman. Coming soon, Hajian puts his comedy slant on Mike Myers' comedy
Love Guru, which features his production and arrangements of classic American pop songs with a Bollywood flair.
Yonkers Joe marks another great collaboration between Hajian and his longtime friend Celestino and is a score that Hajian is extremely proud of.
