About Tribeca Film Festival
The Tribeca Film Festival was founded in 2002 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff and launched by the Tribeca Film Institute. The Festival was founded to celebrate New York City as a major filmmaking center and to contribute to the long-term recovery of lower Manhattan after the World Trade Center attacks. Now in its sixth year, the mission of the Tribeca Film Festival is to enable the international film community and the general public to experience the power of film by redefining the film festival experience.
American Express is the Founding Sponsor of the Tribeca Film Festival. Part of a multi-year relationship, the sponsorship demonstrates American Express' dedication to the goals of the Festival and the revitalization of lower Manhattan.
