ASCAP Presents... Quiet on the Set

Quincy Coleman
www.quincycoleman.com

Released independently in May of 2006 on House Fire Records, Quincy Coleman's Come Closer is the gem that came out of tragedy. A burning candle left in Quincy's bedroom not only destroyed her dad's house but all her possessions. However, looking on the bright side, this afforded her a fresh start, and the insurance money funded the entire album. Born into a family of performers, Quincy pursued entertainment dreams throughout high school and college, but it was in Europe that she found herself busking for money. When she moved back to Los Angeles, she recorded her self-released debut album, Also Known as Mary, which caught the ear of KCRW's Nic Harcourt. She was recently featured on the cover of Music Connection magazine and has also been featured magazines such as Paste, Performing Songwriter, American Songwriter, L.A. Times and a host of TV morning shows from San Diego up to Portland. Her song, "Afraid," is featured on the soundtrack for the Academy Award-winning film, Crash. In addition, two songs from Come Closer were featured in the recently released How To Go Out On A Date In Queens, in the upcoming movie, Feast, and Waitress.
