Day Two of SXSW Music Fest Features ASCAP Panels, Parties & Boat Rides

As the SXSW Music Fest moved into its second day, ASCAP fanned out across the city of Austin, presenting panels at the convention center, co-presenting an incredible day of live music on the Filter stage at Cedar Street Courtyard and hosting boat rides on Austin's Town Lake.

Filter Magazine's Revenge of Cedar Street Parties, co-presented by ASCAP, featured performances on an outdoor stage by such acts as Duels, Eastern Conference Champions, The Duke Spirit, The Cribs, Metric and Elefant.

Jeff & Todd Brabec

Meanwhile over at the convention center, ASCAP Executive Vice President of Membership Todd Brabec and his brother, VP of Business Affairs for Chrysalis Music Group Jeff Brabec, presented a panel, "Songwriting and Music Publishing is a Business," that explored the many revenue streams available to songwriters and music publishers.

In addition, ASCAP's Jennifer Knoepfle participated on a panel, "A&R: Research and Strategy," with top A&R executives from Columbia Records, Atlantic Records and EMI Music Publishing.

All aboard the SS ASCAP!

On Austin's Town Lake, ASCAP hosted its annual day of boat rides for songwriters, music publishers and industry reps. A long-running and popular feature of the music festival, the boat rides offered festival-goers a chance to meet and mingle in a festive and relaxed atmosphere away from the crowded and crazy city streets.
