Part One: ASCAP Rocks, Neil Young Talks, as SXSW Music Fest Starts in Austin The SXSW Music Festival, the music industry's long-running and revered annual conference in Austin, Texas, started with a bang on March 15th. ASCAP Presents..., the Society's highly-anticipated rock showcase, kicked things off at the Dirty Dog on Sixth Street with seven outstanding rock bands: Aberdeen City, Love of Diagrams, Pilotdrift, Office, The Rinse, Colored Shadows and the Ark.
Part Two: Day Two of SXSW Music Fest Features ASCAP Panels, Parties & Boat Rides As the SXSW Music Fest moved into its second day, ASCAP fanned out across the city of Austin, presenting panels at the convention center, co-presenting an incredible day of live music on the Filter stage at Cedar Street Courtyard and hosting boat rides on Austin's Town Lake.
Part Three: 2006 a Banner Year for ASCAP as SXSW Wraps up in Austin ASCAP wrapped up an exciting week of events at the SXSW Music Fest and Conference in Austin, TX with more events and more great music than ever before. The music fest's last two days featured a flurry of ASCAP-sponsored showcases and parties, including two more days of incredible performances at Filter Magazine's "Revenge of Cedar Street" stage, featuring such world-renowned bands as Illinois, Silversun Pickups, The Grates, Magnet, Earlimart, The Duke Spirit, Carina Round, Vega 4, Amusement Parks on Fire, The Subways, Nine Black Alps and others.
