ASCAP On-line Composer Spotlight

Michael S. Patterson

Michael S. Patterson

Film title: Half-life

Los Angeles-based film composer Michael S. Patterson, a self-described "nontraditional traditionalist," is truly one of today's unique and passionate composers. His filmography includes the 2008 Sundance selection Half-Life, the 2006 Sundance hit This Film Is Not Yet Rated directed by Academy Award nominees Kirby Dick and Eddie Schmidt, and the masterful orchestral music for the 2002 CBS Special 9/11. Patterson studied electronic, jazz and 20th century classical composition at Berklee College of Music. Off the scoring stage, Patterson tends to a collection of over 100 orchids.
