Part Three
Mellow Fellow

Legendary singer-songwriter Donovan performed two incredible sets of his music to packed houses as the ASCAP Music Café headed into its grand finale. The nine-day event was capped by performances by Dana Parish with Andrew Hollander, Annie Stela, Emerson Hart, Far*East Movement, James Morrison, Ron Sexsmith and Sparta.

Donovan, backed by daughter, singer-songwriter Astrella Celeste, delighted the audience with stories from his incredible career and performances of such landmark songs as "Mellow Yellow," "Season of the Witch," "Jennifer Juniper," "Catch the Wind" and others.

A special added-show on Thursday, January 25, featured singer-songwriters Glen Hansard (of the Irish rock band The Frames) and Marketa Irglova, stars of the this year's Sundance buzz film Once, directed by John Carney.

The final days of the café also featured unforgettable sets by an international cast of critically-acclaimed and successful writer-performers, including the powerhouse talent of England's James Morrison, one of Canada's (and the world's) most beloved singer-songwriters, Ron Sexsmith, Asian hip-hop collective Far*East Movement, who had music in the festival film, Finishing the Game, Tonic-frontman Emerson Hart, the mesmerizing Annie Stela and the hard-driving rockers, Sparta.

On Thursday, January 25th, ASCAP hosted a brunch for filmmakers, composers, songwriters and others at Cisero's on Main Street in Park City. This annual event brings together creators from the worlds of film and music to meet and mingle in a casual setting during the festival. This year's brunch was attended by many of the filmmakers and composers whose works are featured in this year's festival, including composers Leo Heiblum (Cocalero and Trade), Tareke Ortiz (Bajo Juarez, the city devouring its daughters), Alfredo Nogueira (Low and Behold); Michael Levine (Adrift in Manhattan), Nicholas Baby (Ezra) and filmmakers David Zellner (Aftermath on Meadowlark Lane), Moon Molson (Pop Foul), Brian Cassidy (God Provides) and Phil Van (winner of Delta Air Lines national short film competition for High Maintenance).
