Films About Music
American Hardcore explores how the early '80s hardcore punk scene gave birth to much of the rock music and culture that followed.
There would simply be no Nirvana, Beastie Boys or the Red Hot Chili Peppers were it not for the hardcore pioneers such as Black Flag, Bad Brains, Minor Threat and other bands. In this year's Sundance documentary, American Hardcore, based on Steven Blush's book of the same name, film director Paul Rachman takes the audience on a trip throught the movement and across the country.
