Films About Music
Jonathan Demme's Neil Young: Heart of Gold captures an incredible concert of Young and friends at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium.
Jonathan Demme's concert film of the Talking Heads, Stop Making Sense, is one of the best films ever to capture the energy and excitement of a live performance. At this year's Sundance Film Festival, Demme returns with Neil Young: Heart of Gold, another great concert film. Demme turns his camera on Neil Young at a special concert in the spring of 2005 at Nashville's hallowed Ryman Auditorium. Young is joined by an incredible group of artists and musicians, and Demme captures all the excitement, emotion, warmth and beauty that Young is so famous for in his live shows. In the concert film, ASCAP member Young performs songs from his critically-acclaimed new album, Prairie Wind. |
