Kings of Leon, Nellie McKay,
Saul Williams and Michael McDonald
kick off the ASCAP Music Café
at Sundance
The 2005 Sundance Film Festival is
up and running in Park City, Utah
and ASCAP's Music Café
is once again one of the festival's
hot spots, offering filmmakers and
festival goers a musical feast. The
Café, which runs for eight
days, is featuring some of the hottest
up and coming songwriters and bands
as well as music legends and luminaries
from the U.S. and abroad.
The first three days of the café
offered some of the most exciting
performers on the scene today, including
Kings of Leon, Saul Williams, Nellie
McKay, Michael McDonald, Dresden
Dolls, Martin Luther, Ben Kweller,
Angelique Kidjo, Kyle Riabko and Peter
Cincotti. They were all sharing the
stage at Plan B the Nightclub on Main
Street in Park City, the hub of all
the action at the festival.
Attendance at the festival this
year is more than 40,000 people, and
by the look of the crowd at the Music
Café over the weekend, they
were all trying to get in to hear some
amazing ASCAP music.
