The ASCAP Songwriter Residency, a partnership with nationally acclaimed after-school program America SCORES, provides a platform for songwriters and composers to engage with their local communities, inspiring and mentoring students in under-resourced neighborhoods by co-writing and recording songs with them.

SISTER, BROTHER, FATHER, MOTHER (LA)
Written and performed by Gabriel Mann and the America SCORES Los Angeles students of Braddock Drive Elementary. Recorded at The Village Studios.
"Working with the kids brought me back to why I got into music in the first place. Songs that make you feel something, melodies that make you want to sing out loud. It was an honor to see what's happening in their minds, what they care about, who they love. They have a very strong sense of what's important at such a young age, and we had a great time exploring that together."
Critically acclaimed composer/songwriter Gabriel Mann (Modern Family, Rectify)
THE WORLD'S ON FIRE (BOSTON)
Written and performed by Felix McTeigue, Ellie Buckland, Isa Burke and the America SCORES Boston students of Boston Teachers Union Middle School. Recorded at Q Division Studios.
"This was such a meaningful experience for all of us. We had no idea what to expect when the workshop started, but we were blown away - not only by the kids' talent, creativity and hard work - but also by how real, relevant and heartfelt a subject matter they chose to write about. Watching the kids come out of their shells and become more confident with their ideas was very powerful. What a truly profound experience. We are incredibly grateful."

"What happens between the ASCAP artists and the America SCORES students can only be described as magical! I am totally wowed by what our students and the songwriter are able to create.
