The Abe Olman Publisher of the Year Award was
presented to ASCAP Board member and Worldwide
Chairman of BMG Music Publishing, Nicholas Firth.
Ed Murphy, National Music Publishers Association
CEO, who was awarded with the Abe Olman Award
in 2002, but was unable to attend last year's
ceremony, was presented belatedly with his award.
The Patron of the Arts Award was presented to
longtime Chairman and CEO of EMI Music Publishing,
Martin Bandier.
The recipient of the Hitmaker Award was industry
icon and Chairman/CEO of the RCA Music Group,
Clive Davis. |

Tony Bennett was the recipient of a new award,
Towering Performance Award, for his quintessential
performance of this year's Towering Song, "I
Left My Heart in San Francisco". The song
was co-written by ASCAP members, the late George
C. Cory, Jr. & Douglass Cross, published by
Colgems-EMI Music
Inc. Pictured with Tony Bennett is Hal David,
