From all of us at ASCAP, we'd like to thank the nearly 2,500 participants at this year's ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO in Los Angeles. Whether you were a panelist, an attendee, a volunteer, a sponsor or an exhibitor, you made this year's event the best ever. We're still reeling from the amazing panels, master sessions, performances, networking and overwhelming spirit of community at this year's EXPO.

ASCAP President Paul Williams presented music legend Lindsey Buckingham with the Golden Note Award at the ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO on Friday, April 29th just prior to a rare interview with Lindsey conducted by pop star Sara Bareilles. Johnta Austin also interviewed Jermaine Dupri and some of today's top women songwriters united to talk about craft and career, which kept the Grand Ballroom packed on the second day of another exciting EXPO. Other panelists and panel topics included Marco Beltrami and Wes Craven, Ron Jones, Eric Whitacre, independent publishing, musical theatre, touring, ASCAP advantages, production music, social networking, song feedback, online tools and more.

Songwriter, producer and savvy businessman Pharrell Williams shared some of the secrets to his success, songwriter Antonina Armato gave direct, constructive feedback to emerging writers, and a superstar group of songwriters, including John Rzeznik, Ingrid Michaelson, Dan Wilson and Chris Stapleton, performed in the round. These were just a few of the incredible highlights of the third and final day of the 2011 ASCAP EXPO, which left attendees energized, educated and inspired.
