Glen Ballard's career accounts for an awesome 150 million albums sold. As a songwriter, producer and record executive with a keen ear for new musical talent, Glen Ballard has been the decidedly uncommon denominator between Alanis Morrissette and Aerosmith; the Dave Matthews Band and No Doubt; Christina Aguilera and Van Halen... the list goes on. Ballard's resume includes six Grammys and Songwriter Of The Year honors from both ASCAP and National Association of Songwriters. Ballard's unprecedented ability to innovate, motivate and stimulate artists of every description reaches back to his groundbreaking work with Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin and a host of others. Ballard has also overseen debut releases acclaimed vocalist Susie Suh, as well as Katy Perry, who released her debut album on Ballard's independent label, Java Records. Ballard has also contributed original film soundtrack compositions for Robert Zemeckis' The Polar Express in close collaboration with Alan Silvestri, which won him both Oscar and Golden Globe nominations along with a 2005 Best Song Grammy for "Believe," performed by Josh Groban. Ballard is also front and center on a variety of other high-profile film projects, including the Beowulf, which reunites him with Zemeckis and Silvestri and features five new Ballard originals. |
