On the heels of winning a 2007 Grammy for his song, "Our Town," from the animated blockbuster film Cars, ASCAP was honored to have songwriter/composer Randy Newman as a guest for a special interview and performance. Newman played some of this best-known songs from throughout his five-decade career.

Panels, Master Sessions and More
The first day of the EXPO featured a cross-genre panel of some of today's top writers and producers, including John Corigliano, Dre and Vidal, Jermaine Dupri and John Alagia as well as sessions covering making money as a songwriter, composer and music publisher, TV composing, Gospel and Contemporary/ Christian writing and a master session with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.

"I Create Music" Center Stage
A star-studded group of ASCAP's top songwriters, representing a variety of musical genres, delighted the EXPO audience with acoustic performances of some their best-known work as well as some new songs. Performers included Jimmy Webb, John Rich, J.D. Souther and Michelle Shocked.
