More than 2,300 music creators convened in Los Angeles from April 19th through the 21st for the 2007 ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO. ASCAP President and Chairman Marilyn Bergman launched this year's EXPO with an inspiring keynote address. More than 300 panelists participated. Academy Award-winning songwriter/composer Randy Newman discussed his music and performed many of his memorable songs. A superpanel of songwriter-producers wrapped up this year's program with an intimate, inspiring and, above all, entertaining discussion and performance of their music. Glen Ballard, Mark Hudson, Don Was and Jerry Harrison received a standing ovation after several rousing acoustic performances of their best-known work. The panel capped a day of panels that explored online marketing, writing for video games, audio production, comedy music as well as master sessions presented by Desmond Child and Rick Nowels, song listening sessions and much more.
