Robert "EST" Waller
Growing up in the Hunter Park section of North Philly, it wasn't hard to escape music. By the early eighties, Waller wasn't just another beat-boxing kid on the corner; he was a member of the hip-hop movement. Within time he became the leading member of the rap group 3X Dope. In 2003, Waller resurfaced as "The Great EST" lyricist. Beyoncé Knowles released her highly anticipated solo debut, Dangerously In Love with hits "Baby Boy," "Me, Myself and I" and "Naughty Girl" lighting up the airwaves. The album went internationally multi-platinum in just a few short months. Robert "EST" Waller was a co-writer on all three chart topping singles. He soon began working with heavyweights, such as Scott Storch. Waller continued to collaborate with Destiny's Child, eventually penning the 2005 hit "Cater 2 U" for their finale album, Destiny Fulfilled. Waller recently received a Grammy nomination in the Best R&B Song category for "Cater 2 U." Waller has grown from being an artist to being a poet. He has been busy crafting song for promising new acts and returning favorites such as Mya, Mario, Brooke Hogan, CJ, and Letoya. |
