Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis are musical icons. Their list of achievements as songwriters, record producers, musicians and entrepreneurs is second to none.
Jam and Lewis helped sculpt Janet Jackson into an international phenomenon who has sold over 60 million records and earned over 20 Gold and Platinum singles to date. Other major artists whom they have collaborated with during their illustrious career include Mary J. Blige, Usher, Gwen Stefani, Mariah Carey, Sting, Yolanda Adams, Shaggy, Herb Alpert, Human League, Boyz II Men, Robert Palmer, and Sounds of Blackness.
To date, Jam and Lewis have written and/or produced over 100 albums and singles that have reached Gold, Platinum or multi-Platinum, and have more Billboard #1 hits than any production duo in history. Their 26 #1 R&B singles and 16 #1 pop hits include "That's the Way Love Goes," "On Bended Knee," "All for You," "Thank God I Found You," "Diamonds," "Escapade," "4 Seasons of Loneliness," "Miss You Much," "You Remind Me" and "What Have You Done for Me Lately."
Jam and Lewis have taken home multiple Grammy Awards as songwriters and producers as well as 9 Writer of the Year awards at ASCAP's Rhythm & Soul and Pop Awards dinners. Jam & Lewis have also been honored with Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations and have been immortalized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
On the business side Jam and Lewis have parlayed their vision into celebrated companies that include Flyte Tyme Productions, Perspective Records, Flyte Tyme Records, and their publishing arm Flyte Tyme Tunes. Relocating from Minneapolis with an eye on film & television, the dynamic duo recently opened Flyte Tyme Studios, their new state of the art production facility in Santa Monica. Recent guests have included Mos Def, Jermaine Dupri, Jennifer Hudson, Jessica Simpson, Snoop Dogg, Usher, Nelly, Chaka Khan and of course Janet.
This year Jam & Lewis celebrate their 35th year together as friends, and the 25th Anniversary of Flyte Tyme Productions. Their unparalleled career accomplishments have cemented their musical legacy, and rendered them as true living legends within the music industry.
