Jeff Franzel

Jeff Franzel is a multi-talented songwriter and composer with over 20 years experience in the music business. Jeff began his career as a jazz pianist and toured with many groups, including the big band of legendary bandleader Les Brown. He has accompanied such artists as Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme and Sammy Davis Jr.

More recently, Jeff has written pop songs for artists as diverse as Clay Aiken, ‘N Sync, Shawn Colvin, Russell Watson, Hayley Westenra, Raven-Symone, Taylor Dayne, Billy Gilman, and The Temptations. Jeff's songs have been featured on over 20 platinum albums in the U.S. and other countries. On the U.S. Billboard charts, Jeff has had a #2 pop hit and a top 10 AC hit, and has also had numerous #1 hits in the U.K., Australia, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Poland and Brazil.

Jeff has written many songs expressly for film soundtracks, including Runaway Bride, Barbershop,Serendipity and Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen, and has the end title for the recent Paramount Pictures release titled Gray Matters starring Heather Graham. He also recently wrote a song for Jerry Bruckheimer's film "Déjà vu" which stars Denzel Washington. His song "When You Know," which features Shawn Colvin, was included in a "songs inspired by soundtrack" for the updated DVD version of My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Jeff has also had numerous songs in TV soundtracks such as Dawson's Creek and Touched by an Angel and has written instrumental music for use in television and advertising.

Jeff has recorded three music library CD's for FirstCom and Universal's Music Production library. He is also active in performing jazz piano in the NY area and recently recorded a jazz piano CD with Anna Wilson, which was produced by Monty Powell.
