Femi Kuti (SACEM)

Femi Kuti carries the afro-pop crown that was passed along by his father, Fela. Femi, who delighted with his lyrics, saxophone and keyboards, was accompanied by a tight band complete with African dancers.

Simple Kid (PRS)

Irish born Ciaran McFeely (aka Simple Kid) delivered a wonderful set filled with country-infused songs underscored with electronic beats.

With a constantly shifting band, Jamie Masefield's Jazz Mandolin Project play jazz oriented compositions led by Masefield's mandolin.

Dirty Dozen Brass Band

The Dirty Dozen Brass Band played the first note at the first Bonnaroo and is shown here leading an impromtu, unamplified, parade through Centeroo, the central town at the festival, where in the distance a music tent is in full swing.

Umphrey's McGee

Umphrey's McGee's four-hour epic late night concert featured the band handing off their instruments one by one to moe., who played a surprise mini-set that included Umphrey's manager, Vince Iwinski, singing Metallica's "Enter Sandman."

Soulful, hook laden rock oozed out of Marc Broussard, whose powerful voice draws much from his Louisiana roots.

Mike Doughty

Former front man for Soul Coughing, Mike Doughty displayed his songwriting prowess on the intimate Sonic Stage.

Cut Chemist

Bonnaroo featured a number of deejays, in addition to bands. Cut Chemist, a member of Jurassic 5, held it down on the turntables during his solo, late-night set.
