ASCAP Dominates Nominations for
80th Annual Academy Awards

ASCAP swept the nominations in the music categories for the 80th annual Academy Awards. In a January 22 announcement made by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) President Sid Ganis and Oscar® winner Kathy Bates, ASCAP writers and international affiliates wrote or co-wrote all ten nominated works across the Original Score and Original Song fields. This included three nominations for ASCAP Board Member Stephen Schwartz, in honor of the lyrics he wrote for songs from Enchanted.

The Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2007 will be presented on Sunday, February 24, 2008, at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, and televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5 p.m. PT.
