The Latin Grammy® award-winning Marco Antonio Solís is perhaps the most influential singer-songwriter in Latin America. His music remains as original today as it did when he first began burning up the charts, a feat he achieves by producing music that transcends trends and generation gaps, simply by following his own creative vision.

Originally from the Mexican state of Michoacan, Marco Antonio Solís became a household name in the 1970's as the founder and lead singer of Los Bukis, one of the country's best-selling romantic groups. As leader of Los Bukis, Marco Antonio Solís spearheaded "la onda grupera" with its synthesizerdriven fusion of cumbia, norteño and banda. Over the next two decades, Los Bukis came to profoundly influence Regional Mexican music in the United States and Mexico.

In 1995, Marco Antonio Solís initiated his solo career, and he has since made Latin Music history by writing hundreds of songs that have become standards, covered by scores of artists, shaping the development of Latin music. He is recognized for his across-the-board success in sales, airplay, industry awards and concert tours.

Marco Antonio Solís has penned some of Latin music's greatest hit songs such including "Tu Carcel," "Como Fui A Enamorarme De Ti," "Sigue Sin Mi" and "Si No Te Hubieras Ido," to name only a few. His impressive career includes over 20 recorded albums, over 300 original songs, a string of radio hits that have reached No.1 on Billboard's "Hot Latin Tracks" chart, and numerous Gold and Platinum albums in the United States, Mexico, Central and South America.

To celebrate his 30th year in the music industry, Solís consolidated his popularity in Latin America in 2006 through a series of concerts held in Central American countries such as Panamá, El Salvador and Guatemala. Solís' tour of South America brought even more success, including a concert in the renowned Estadio Nacional de la Capital Santiago that broke Chilean concert-attendance records by attracting over 40,000 fans. In addition, Solís received the prestigious award of "El Artista Súper Ventas En Chile," a special recognition for the sale of over 250,000 albums in that country.

This past year also saw the release of Solís' well-received Trozos De Mi Alma 2, a follow up to his legendary Trozos De Mi Alma album (1999). The album, recorded at Abbey Road Studios (made famous by The Beatles), is as musically varied as any Solís has recorded but still retains the romantic spirit of his previous work.

Solís spent his downtime in 2006 by earning numerous prestigious awards in honor of his worldwide success – the Premio Lo Nuestro A La Música Latina award for Artista Masculino del Año (Male Artist of the Year), a 'Reconocimiento Especial' (Special Recognition) for his 30th Anniversary, and a 'Billboard De La Música Latina' (Billboard Latin Music) award in the Album de los Grandes Exitos Latinos del Año category (Greatest Hits Album of The Year) for his magnificent collection La Historia Continúa Parte II.

In 2007 Marco embarked on a tour that included hugely successful shows in Spain. There he recorded a live album that will be released very soon.

He plans to return to Spain and perform in Madrid, Barcelona, Murcia, Granada, Zaragoza, plus he will be playing for the first time in Peru with which he will have included every country in South and Central America.

He started 2008 with a huge bang winning the Songwriter Of The Year Award at the Billboard Latin Awards and having 4 songs at the same time on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, including the #1 slot.

2007 was truly a remarkable year for Marco Antonio Solís, a songwriter whose career is already studded with milestones.
