Born in Concord, New Hampshire, Nate Radley began playing the guitar in his early teens. After high school, Nate moved to Chicago to study sociology at the University of Chicago and began playing music professionally around the city. Deciding to pursue music full time, Radley relocated to Boston to study at New England Conservatory where he studied with John Ambercrombie, Jerry Bergonzi, Bob Brookmeyer, Ran Blake and Danilo Perez, graduating in 2000. Nate now lives and works in New York City where he leads his own quartet and freelances with groups such as the Matthias Lupri Quintet, the Eric Rasmussen Quartet, the Eric Thompson Quartet, and Kakalla.
Nate has performed with such jazz artists such as Rick Margitza, Mark Turner, Greg Osby, Donny McCaslin, Antonio Sanchez, John Hollenbeck, Cuong Vu, George Garzone, Jeff Ballard, Maria Schneider and Benny Golson. In addition, he has performed throughout the US and Canada at venues such as the Cornelia St. Café and Knitting Factory in New York City, Ryles and Jordan Hall in Boston, the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, and festivals in Atlanta, Toronto, Vancouver, Minneapolis, Seattle and Jacksonville. Nate is featured on a variety of CDs, including recent releases The Voice of Twilight by Kakalla, Sonic Transition by Matthias Lupri, First Offering by Rick Dumuzio and So Far, So Near by Sonic Explorers.
