The ASCAP Foundation Eunice & Hal David Merit Award recognizes outstanding musical accomplishments of a student who studied under Pat Bass, the music director of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) Vocal Jazz Ensemble. To honor his memory, Hal’s widow, Eunice funds the Instructor-In-Residence Award at LACHSA which supports the work of Pat Bass.
