Lee Ann Womack and Brad Paisley lead with six nominations each |
ASCAP members scored more than half of the nominations for the 39th annual CMA Awards. Topping the list were Brad Paisley and Lee Ann Womack with an impressive six nominations apiece. Paisley received nods for Male Vocalist of the Year, Single, Song and Music Video of the Year for "Alcohol," Musical Event of the Year for "New Again," and for the first time, has been nominated in the Entertainer of the Year category.
Womack earned nominations for Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for There's More Where That Came From, Single and Music Video of the Year for "I May Hate Myself In The Morning," and has two nods in the Musical Event of the Year category, one with George Strait for "Good News, Bad News," and one for "I'll Never Be Free."
Other ASCAP members with multiple nominations are Rascal Flatts, George Strait, Sugarland, Gretchen Wilson, and John Rich (from Big & Rich) with three each, and Kenny Chesney and Alan Jackson with two each.
The 39th annual CMA Awards will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 and broadcast live from New York City's Madison Square Garden from 8:00 - 11:00 PM (ET) on the CBS Television Network.
