ASCAP/PRS artists took home an impressive 11 out of 15 trophies to dominate the 2006 BRIT Awards, held at London's Earls Court on February 15.
Alt-rock act Kaiser Chiefs, who hail from Leeds, England, were the big winners of the night talking home three awards for British Live Act, British Group, and British Rock Act.
Coldplay and Green Day were among the multiple winners. Coldplay won for British Album, X&Y, as well as British Single for "Speed of Sound." Green Day won the International Group award, in addition to International Album for American Idiot.
Also winning in the international categories were Jack Johnson for Breakthrough Act, and Madonna for Female Solo Artist.
